Trusting Your Gut Feeling (Even When It Makes No Sense)

Your body knows things your mind hasn't caught up to yet. Here's how to start listening — and why it's worth it.

There's a moment most of us know well: you're standing at a crossroads, and something deep inside you already knows the answer. But your mind is loud, your logic is convincing, and the voice of intuition is quiet — easy to dismiss.

Intuition isn't magic. It's the accumulated wisdom of your lived experience, processed faster than conscious thought. When your gut speaks, it's drawing on patterns, memories, and sensory data you may not even be consciously aware of.

The challenge isn't that we can't hear it. It's that we've been taught not to trust it. We've been told to be rational, to have evidence, to justify our choices. And so the quiet knowing gets buried under layers of second-guessing.

Start small. The next time you feel a pull — toward a person, a decision, a direction — pause before you override it. Ask yourself: what does my body feel right now? Tension or ease? Contraction or expansion? These physical signals are your intuition speaking in its native language.

You don't have to abandon logic. You just have to invite intuition to the table. When both are present, you make decisions that are not only smart — but deeply aligned.
